Use In/Out Weighing when Trucks pass over your scale on the way in and out of your facility (e.g. pit, quarry, plant, depot, yard, transfer station, landfill, port).
Industries that typically use In/Out Weighing are: Recycling, Waste Management and Forestry. |
The In/Out Weighing operation is used to record and combine an Inbound weight and Outbound weight to determine a Net weight.
When you are shipping: Weight Out - Weight In = Net Weight
When you are receiving: Weight In - Weight Out = Net Weight
When you Weigh In you can record a Gross or Tare weight. When you Weigh Out you can record a Gross or Tare weight.
When you Weigh Out, Dispatch will determine which weight is the Gross and which is the Tare and calculate the correct (positive) Net weight value.
Here are some examples of when you should enable In/Out Weighing mode:
•You are receiving a commodity and you want to determine the Net weight you have received by calculating the difference between the Truck's weight when it's loaded (the Inbound weight) and it's weight after it unloads (the Outbound weight).
•You are shipping a commodity and you do not want to use a stored Tare weight to determine the Net weight of the commodity you are shipping. In other words, to complete a transaction, Trucks weigh in empty (Tare) and weigh out loaded (Gross).
•You want a record of exactly what time a entered and exited your location.
The only reason you should be using the In/Out Weighing operation is when you intend capture both the Inbound and Outbound weights to determine the Net weight of a transaction.
Use the Tare operation if your intention is to update the stored Tare weight of a specific Truck. |
